 PD lift handle prototype
I been playin around with a design for a cool PD lift handle on the mill, this is the first one I came up with. The overall height will be pretty much the same as the stock one, but the handle will be horizontal. The pic shows the face of the plate that faces out. Still toying with ideas of what to make the handle itself out of. This one is made of 3/16", but the real ones will be made prolly 3/8 thick. Give me yalls input, I want to make the design that everyone likes. I can change anything about the shape except the overall length.
Thanks,Rod

Cool,
I'm not a big fan of the top end of it, it looks like the end of an adjustable wrench.

 Re: PD lift handle prototype
itll have two pieces of angle that will bolt in place of the factory plate, then the two machined plates will bolt to the angle with bolts through the sides. The handle will be a solid rod with threaded ends and bolts will go through the top hole in each plate. some sort of rubber, maybe shrink tubing will cover the solid rod.

 Re: PD lift handle prototype
I think you should tig the sides to a plate that mounts to the engine.
Looks good --- Possibly something that is the highest point of the engine and curve it to the back some so any branches wont be hitting the carb or air cleaner

 Re: PD lift handle prototype
n i g ger rig tension knob. The reverse system works like a ratchet. If your using a ratchet and the bolt you are trying to undo is loose and there is no tension, then your ratchet wont work. likewise with the reverse system on the PD, the tension knob puts some pressure on the lower unit so that the ratchet reverse can function, if there is no pressure, then it wont work, just like trying to use a ratchet on a loose bolt.

Be cool if you could make one look like a pistole grip or the grip of a knife or brass knuckles.
