Even the almighty IM heads valves leak
Less than 100 hours on these heads, and the intake valves on both heads leak.

Re: Even the almighty IM heads valves leak
Did you try running any cleaners thru the motor before you took them off?
I've had 2 motors come thru here this month to get ready for fishing season that upon an initial inspection failed a leak down test. But after running a cleaner thru the motor (and getting out all the carbon deposits from running cheap gas) they were fine.

Re: Even the almighty IM heads valves leak
First I started with a decarbonizer (foaming degreaser) called Power Foam from Amsoil. Then ran about a gallon of gas mixed with a shock treatment of Yamaha Ring Free. I also told my customers to run their next 2-3 tanks with some Ring Free just to be on the safe side, but my leak down numbers went from 65% blow by to just under 20% on both motors.

My stock ones looked just like that. I laped them and put it back together. It runs fine now but I didn't get a chance to put it in the water yet

Even the almighty IM heads valves leak
That and why I had to step up my pilot jet one size larger to get it to come off of idle decently.
