I was doing my maintenance yesterday on my '12 35GTR and noticed that the pad is rabbing/grinding on the caliper. I have 114 hours on the engine. Is this normal wear for the reverse? Or would this be some type of warranty issue? I never heard of changing it. Any advice would be great.

Also my gasked is leaking on my motor. Its not leaking much but you can notice is from every trip. I have seen a couple of other motors that have this problem. anyone else have this problem? I think the gasket is covered under warrany, and i will bring it in after the season to get replaced

Don't know on the caliper, but make sure the case bolts stay snug. Small oil leak is okay, loose bolts are not.

you have 0 pads left and your rotor is toast. Yea I think you need to go get it checked

Looks like you need new pads. Those are shot.

Call GT and get the caliper issue worked out with them. I can imagine that they would make it right since your motor is still under warranty. I have a leak in the same exact spot. See this thread for more....

Once fixed you may pick up 300 or more rpm.

Looks like your pads are not level. I mean the bottom of your pad looks to be making contact whereas the top is not. Put I little wd-40 on the prongs just under the pad. Had a semilar problem and it was the pad not returning to its original position after I used reverse it could not slide back. Looks like a fair amount of corrosion on there. And everybody's crankcase gasket leaks

is there a after market part # for pads or do you have to buy from gt?

U can get regular break pads but u gotta make sure they are the same

I have 160 hours on mine and they never went out but I just got break pads and changed them

Changed my pads around 140hrs. They wore just like that, have not looked at new set to see how the are wearing yet.

Well, being this is my first MM, i dont know all the sounds just yet. About 20 hours ago, i noticed a sound but never could figure it out. Thats when i noticed the caliper. Im going to give hoyt a call and see what they say

Just talked to Bubba with GT and he told me to ride it out to the end of the duck season and he is going to hook me up with new gasket and calipers and check the whole thing over! Main reason i went with GT is becuase of the service. Thanks again to all yalls comments.

gasket isnt leaking bad at all but they are still going to replace it. I will check it often until i can get it to him

Im in thibodaux. I probably wont use it this weekend and bubba told me i can bring it to him in houma and he will take it for me. So i will see if he can take it next week so i can get all of that taken care of. I rather my huntin season end early than to mess up my motor

Seems like the number of gt post from problems is catching up to the number of mudbuddy problem post.

At least with GT, the parts are available and we know where to get them.

Wouldn't expect them to cover reverse pads.....thats something thats gonna wear. Mine wore pretty quick, I will always keep a spare set.

Isn't premature pad wear a sign of operator error? Low fluid/pressure, not squeezing the lever hard enough? I thought the pads on those things were supposed to last a long ass time, no?

I've got 200+ hours on my original pads with barely ant wear on them.

Old pads use to last forever. New ones don't last worth shit

Im new to the MM world so I dont know everything to look for. Never once did i think to check my brake pads. Alot of you know what you are talking about BECUASE you have experienced it yourself or learned from someone elses mistake. I dont get on here every single day like alot of people. Im learning as i go. Only thing i knew how to do was check and change oil frequently and LU grease and trans oil. Now as far as my pads go, i think the pads are sticking close to the rotor and that is whats causing the problem of them wearing fast. If i have to pay for the rotor and pads then fine.

I do appreciate the in put from some of the people and the ones that do want to help. Im not bashign anyone on here, but i dont know everything, never claimed to know everything.
