Stainless valve for stock Briggs heads ????
Anyone got a source for them, don't want the oversized ones tho. Just an upgrade from the stock ones.

Re: Stainless valve for stock Briggs heads ????
I found some from manley. They are 30 over . Call wayne " harahan auto and machine shop" jefferson hwy, harahan louisiana. He can install and do a 3 angle valve seat. 30 0ver will allow for a real good valve seal but not push the engine to hard. Don't deck the heads unless they need it ,you see better bottom end and midrange just due to proper seal.

Heads are already decked .055 with a 5 angle valve job, just want to go with the stainless in order to avoid failure of the stockers.

JMO, but these blocks will not handle more than 200 psi for the long term. If you want more ya gotta go with the Kohlers.

Re: Stainless valve for stock Briggs heads ????
what is wrong with roller rockers ? ive got em on my motor and any motor i got that can reduce friction is a good thing . I think you just increase flow and reduce friction everything is good . maybe you guys can get shaver, donovan, or rodake to make you a billet block and crank for 5 grand do the harley engines run that bad to not install them on a short shaft? just seems way cheaper and twice the hp than doing all the upgrades on a lawnmower engine and having it in the shop constantly

Re: Stainless valve for stock Briggs heads ????
When I was looking to replace my cam last year , I called precision cam. That is who welds them up for EVT. He told me that the roller rockers had to much duration to use with a cam that had .300 of lift.
I thought the same way you do about friction. If you are increasing the load on the cams enough to break them are you really making more hp.
The roller may be OK with less lift , my bps cam looks brand new My tac broke right before the last breakdown I guess I have 50 hrs +- on the cam.
