That's why I pick and choose what goes into my engine. If you can't wrench on your own motor and I ain't talking basic maintenance/adjustments here, you better be willing to break out the checkbook or just keep it stock.

Yea I have seen some REALLY bad work like it was done out of some garage without the proper tools. its not mostly the looks of the work either its the measurements that have been taken like they sould be CC'ing the head volume when the deck them down to match precise compression. cc and measure size in ports for the head for equal air flow. etc. etc.

I think these motors are safe under 4400 and 11.5:1 compression anymore its a time bomb. thats why I run stock. the guys at Briggs & Stratton (vanguard) are not rednecks with a GED they design an engine that will produce that rated hp at 3600 for a long damn time. I understand that we are doing things to those motors thats pretty cool but there is a limit.

Radical mods makes me laugh....its not a race boat....its like dumping 3000 dollars into a V6 mustang and trying to make it run like a V8 why dont anybody put larger engines on them or two (reliable horse power)

oh yea weight....(larger engines or twin engines).....weight to power ratio, thats what makes anyting fast.
35 hp on a boat that weighs 1500 lb or a 70hp that weighs 1750lbs (two engines) weight to power ratio changes.....

Kinda obvious myboy, not just in workmanship but parts pricing as well, Just compair a set of roller rockers for a V8 to a set for a Briggs! you can get 16 for a V8 for the same price you get 4 for a Briggs.

They can cry custom parts cost money all day long and thats right, they do! BUT, SOB 4 to 1! Billet rods aren't any better!

Your gonna pay to play! ;)

It really doesn't pay to bitch about it unless you got something better to share with us! :!: :?:

Yes, I have just started my new mud motor project to be done by march 3cyl liquid cooled 1.0l geo metro engine. I will be making the outdrive and everything else that i cant get off the shelf. also i will be converting it to a speed desnity/fuel table fuel injection system to help with all the angles the engine rotates as an outboard. (had a 29hp kaw mud buddy longtail that was a fuelie). I will be posting in other threads as the project gets underway.

x2 yes ya pay to play.

no reason to argue chop i have met you before and i think you are a great guy i work alot in texas area, and you do good work on metal buildings you build on for a friend on mine i met you last year, what makes racing fun is people with diffrent motors just like mercury and omc so dont get to fighting over something silly, i am a old man i have been there and done that, and i like to see you younger guys carring on the fun of the sport so the guy with the rude comment he is just mad because he is not as fast as he thinks he is because i no i have radar him to he just likes to blow smoke i have him covered quite well and chop your boat looks good keep up the work.
