Post CRACKED BRIGGS BLOCKS!!
I want to know who out there in the mudmotor world has cracked a Briggs 32/35 block? I have seen 3 in the last month!! 2 on ProDrives and 1 on a Go-Devil!!! All of them cracked in the valley between the cylinder heads and just to the right of the fuel pump. If i took all 3 of the engines i have seen and stripped them down to just the block they are dam near identical where they have cracked!!

+1

looking from the front of the engine cracked down the left side of the fuel pump along the curves of the valley....

Are you finding this in stock engines also... mine was modded so i thought that had a lot to do with it.

looking at the fuel pump it would be the lower right side area. near the lower right bolt that holds the pump down.

wish I had pictures... but didn't take any before i shipped it back to get fixed... are you seeing this on stock motors? I have heard that the 08/09 motors are cracking blocks... the 07 models and earlier are doing fine even if they are modded

Mine cracked on the bottom next to the sump. Up in the recessed area between the oil drain and the pto shaft. And I know there have been others that cracked in that same spot.

Mine cracked in the fuel pump hole on the back right side and ran to the case edge after it sheared the heavy duty bolts EVT told me to install on the back right side of the case cover. Too much un balanced power!! It was an 06 case with a total of 50 stock hours, and 29 EVT stage 3 hrs.

Now that it has been mentioned, all 3 of the blocks that I have seen were all 2006 model blocks!!!

06 or not!!! Give them time...The blocks can not handle what people are doing to them..Too much case pressure and torque.Keep the Rpm's down and they will last.

Got my motor back from EVT... Not the cleanest looking repair but if it works it works...

Was told they welded a reinforcement on the inside where the mechanical fuel pump sat then looks like the poured JB weld or some type of epoxy on the outside top of the motor where the fuel pump was locate... Running all electric fuel supply now... Trying a Mr. Gasket 2.5-3psi right now. If it craps out will go to the Purolator that is recommended everywhere I read.

We shall find out if i continue to get bad vibrations... If it breaks again I think my next motor is coming from Mud Buddy (BPS).

Mine was a brand new '09 at least I thought it was... Sent it to EVT right off the distributor's shelf. May have to check the serial on the motor when i get a chance.
