I think they are using a 39mm but I could be wrong. What size is the one your buddy has. If it under a 40mm I bet you could make it work.

Don't really know, is there anything special one has to do to install a new carb on a vertical shaft kohler.

What about a 27hp Horizontal shaft Kohler? Can you put a Mikuni on it? Would a kohler 2 barrel work on it?

We have put Mikunis and 35hp Briggs carbs on the 25 and 27 Kohlers. Must change out the intake to do it.

Drake1 sells them. www.extremevtwins.com

They also make a 2 barrel carb and intake you can pick up for the horizontal kohler. http://www.mid-atlanticperformance.com/

The mikuni is a much better carb and the setup from EVT will be better. The setup with the double barrel will give you more performance than stock and should be considerably less expensive. I've talked to the guys at both of these places. Both very helpful. Give them both a call, and see which one can meet your needs.

Anyone have a model number on the mikuni for the 27HP Kohler? I have a stock engine and am looking to get the most bang for my buck in mods. I have been told to get an exhaust and filter, but to see real results look into a new carb and head work. Where can I go to research this, other than here obviously?

Any tangible number as to how much of an impact this carb makes on a 27 Kohler? What kind of additional speed or power are we talking?

Anyone know if I can use the stock intake with this carb? I have heard people mention different intakes, is there a "best" one?

You use the stock intake for the 30hp motor and an adapter.

Anyone figure out what you have to do as far as bolting the carb up?

New Intake? If so where do you get it?

Adapter Plate? If so where do you get it?

I responded to your pm. Forgot, you do need the 30hp intake. I think I still have one, I'll look when I get home.
The adapter plate, got mine from mike. Im pretty sure the briggs is the same bolt pattern though. Maybe if you could get your hands on one for the 23 or 35 and see how it lines up... may also try al.
