 GTR Stage 1 speeds
My gator tail is doing about 28-29 in deep water and 30-31 in shallow water. I've got heads, cam, and marshmallow with no baffles. It's a 17x54 gator tail boat, just wondering if that's normals speeds

 Re: GTR Stage 1 speeds
Won't lie to you I just bought the boat like that and I have no clue but the air filter is stupid dirty, and I have some bushing out where the motor turns and it is very loose, like the motor bouncing in the water, you think any of this could have to do with ? Or maybe the carb needs to be adjusted ?

 Re: GTR Stage 1 speeds
Motor is a 2010 and it hits about 4600 max rev out the water and 4100 trimmed up all the way in the water

Let me know if you want to mess with it.

 Re: GTR Stage 1 speeds
I have a 2007 GTR on a 1746 with just a mikuni and a baffled marshmallow. I run 30-31 with one other person ( bounces too bad by myself) at about 4100-4200 so I would think you should faster and would turn a few more RPMs that's just my opinion.

 Re: GTR Stage 1 speeds
If it is a 2010 it probably has a 45 Tooth lower pulley. A "stage 1" with heads and cam.. will run about 4000 RPM. That sounds about like Hoyt's old mod recipe of .020" decking and a 280 ish cam.

Just read where you did that. Makes a huge difference.

 Re: GTR Stage 1 speeds
Just curious, what kind of speed and rpm did you get with your new prop?

 Re: GTR Stage 1 speeds
I'm pretty sure he's around the 4050-4100 rpm range and he's around 30 deep 31-32 shallow.
