Post Decking the Heads
Hey guys. I'm curious as to how far you can safely shave the heads on a 35 Vangaurd. Thank you.

Depends on what you are wanting out of your motor.
From my understanding, anything under .05 is pretty safe and reliable.
My motor was .040 and was a strong running motor.

I wish I woulda went .060 instead of .040 on my last motor. If I ever go back to a 35 I will

Thanks for the info. A local guy has a set for sale with stainless valves that he had cut to .055 which I thought was too much. I have a brand new motor and dont want to tear it up.

Anything past .050 I'd have the valve stems trimmed down some to allow enough lash adjustment.
