The one in the link won't work for a big block. If you're set on that, call Dyno and tell them you want it for a big block. Or call Delta Performance and order a 305 from then.

20 different 305 and 308 cams. What else is done to your motor? What heads and decking? What carb and exhaust?

Lift which you are referring too is the least important factor on a cam search.

Not to ask for a lesson as I'm sure there are plenty of threads on it, but is it the duration that's the most important factor then?

Duration and centerlines is what matters. Your motor will not make any compression until the intake valve closes. That is when fuel and air is compressed then spark plug ignites the mixture moving the piston down BBDC the exhaust opens up then pushes the burnt mixture out. BTDC the intake will open while the exhaust is open called overlap. As the exhaust charge is leaving it then pulls in some intake charge aswell to help the induction of a new mixture.
So to control overlap, you need to make adjustments of the CL's or duration or both. Its a double edged sword, that has to give somewhere to receive elsewhere. There is NO do all.

With a bone stock motor im not sure you will see any gains. If your case gasket is leaking then i understand putting a cam in while you are there as long as you intend on adding heads before too long. Heads will benefit much much more on an otherwise stock engine. Do you plan on other upgrades soon and if so what are they? I know it might sound like a pita to pick a cam. We are just trying to help get the most out of your motor
